How to Pamper Your Dog

October 1, 2014
Many people credit their canine pals with standing beside them through thick and thin, and showing unconditional support even in the worst of times. It’s only natural that we want to reward our canine buddies for their love and devotion and make them happy. All dogs deserves a loving home, good nutrition, and proper healthcare, and we believe that treats and toys and other small indulgences all contribute to a dog’s well-being and should be a regular part of every dog’s life. If you want to go a bit further and truly pamper your pooch, however, there are lots of options! Here are a few ways to pamper your pet, as described by your veterinarian Ingersoll:

Doggy Bags

Always get something to bring home to Fido when you eat out. Just make sure you’re feeding him dog-safe foods, and nothing that has onions, garlic, or scallions, and don’t overindulge him to the point where he becomes overweight or obese.

Doggy Adventures

Rarely leave the house without your dog, except perhaps when going to work. Dogs definitely benefit from the stimulation of going to new places and exploring new territories. The precaution to take here is to make sure your dog is actually allowed into your destinations, as sitting in a car isn’t much fun, and can of course be very, very dangerous in bad weather.

Let Fido Sleep With You … And Get Most of the Bed Space

If you wake up to find your dog sprawled out over the bed, while you are relegated to the edge, there is a slight chance your dog might be a little bit pampered.

Cook Just For Your Pup

Homemade dog food and dog treats are great! Not only do you get to control what your dog eats, but you can customize his meals to suit his taste and needs. If you really want to pamper your pooch, cooking for him is a great way to do it. A quick internet search will reveal dozens of recipes. Just be sure to use only ingredients that are safe for dogs.

Get Fido His Own Wardrobe

Does Fido have an entire wardrobe of doggy outfits, and/or designer doggy clothes, then yes, your pup is pampered.

Take Your Pup To A Doggy Café

Why not take Fido out to eat once in a while? Dog-friendly restaurants and cafes are rapidly gaining in popularity. As your vet clinic Ingersoll, we are here to help with all of your pet care needs. If you have any questions about caring for your furry friend, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
